Sigean is proud to join with traditional musicians from across the region to support the Quaker Knob School of Music by participating in a benefit concert that will be held on Saturday May 24th at Chuckey Presbyterian Church, near Greeneville, Tennessee. You’ll also get a chance to hear from our dear friends and amazing musicians Joseph Sobol and Pay the Reckoning.
The Quaker Knob School of Music is an afterschool program that provides music education opportunities in Chuckey and surrounding areas. Students meet weekly on Wednesday nights for music lessons, and attend monthly “master class” presentations by professional and folk musicians from many traditions and backgrounds. Students of all ages are welcome to participate, and the school offers scholarships for children who are unable to afford lessons.
This summer, QKSOM will be hosting Irish Traditional Music (ITM) summer camp. ITM performers and teachers from Ireland and throughout the region will come together to introduce students to the songs, tunes and traditions of Ireland!
Please join us for this concert event, make whatever generous donation you can afford, and support the Quaker Knob School of Music. This is a great opportunity to support increased music education offerings for the region and help these kids enjoy quality music education opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise be available.
